The International Post-Graduate Centre (CIP) is an initiative by the UC and UIMP aimed at the shared management of the programmes they teach together. Their objective is to offer a Post-Graduate course which is internationally attractive, mainly in the areas related to areas of excellence.
The Centre will house transversal education in the UC Doctorate School, UC-UIMP inter-university Doctorate Programmes and UC-UIMP inter-university Master’s Degree Programmes. The inter-university programmes which are to be integrated will stand out for their strategic and international character, as well as their intention to attract foreign students and researchers who are in education. The CIP will be situated in the area provided by UIMP en Las Llamas Campus in Santander, now being reformed for this purpose and which will be provided with modern equipment with Aulas 2.0 (lecture-rooms).
In this context, CCI is working to set up the Internatonal Post-Graduate degree in Medical Simulation, assigned to theVirtual Hospital. This educational activity could have important international scope, given that it has the participation of the prestigious universities of Harvard and MIT (United States). The Virtual Hospital has 65 professionals, 4 with a full-time commitment and 61 appointed to HUMV and the UC. The centre will be run by a public company with a capital of 18 Million Euros.
In the area of Water and Energy, the CIP will offer two new international programmes in marine renewable energies and off-shore engineering.
The Professional Master’s Degree Programme is aimed at the implementation of new Post-Graduate programmes according to their adaptation to work requirements, quality and their international scope. In this sense, CCI will teach an international Master’s Degree aimed at teaching future graduates in the Date-Processing Centre (Computer studies and Telecommunications), to cover the needs imposed by CPD technologies. The action is promoted by PRODUBAN, an entity belonging to the Santander Group which manages infrastructures.
Besides, two new professional Post-Graduate titles will be taught: a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and the Master’s Degree in Mental Health Research. Likewise, CCI is analyzing the possibility of teaching a Master’s Degree in Public Management for Ibero-American Civil Servants, in collaboration with prestigious and international entities.
Within the framework of the Doctorate School, the UC will teach a programme in Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses together with the Technological Institute of Higher Education Studies in Monterrey (ITESM, Mexico). The objective is to train Mexican specialists who research and transfer their resulting knowledge through the creation of companies.
