Menéndez Pelayo Royal Society
On January 15th 2013, Menéndez Pelayo Royal Society, signed its adherence to Cantabria International Campus, the Campus of Excellence in the University of Cantabria. With its incorporation, there are now 19 public and private entities incorporated in the project led by the University of Cantabria, in collaboration with Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP).
Since 1918, Menéndez Pelayo Royal Society has been a registered cultural association (Nº 4992) in the National Register of Associations, whose objectives are to promote, strengthen and support research work relating to the bio-bibliographic and critical study of Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo and his works; to equally promote those humanistic studies in the Spanish Language which highlighted the work of Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, in particular Aesthetic Criticism, Literary Criticism, Philology, Philosopy, History, Classical Humanities and Literature; to promote culture and the general dissemination of culture in Spain and particularly in Cantabria.

With these objectives in mind, it organizes congresses, symposiums, conferences, courses, seminars, competitions and concerts and also edits journals, reviews, books, pamphlets and other types of publications.
