The Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria, (http://www.camaracantabria.com/), is one of the aggregates of Cantabria International Campus, according to the agreement signed in 2009. Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria and the University of Cantabria have signed an agreement for the development of Cantabria International Campus.
The commitment of the Chamber of Commerce in Cantabria International Campus gains value thanks to its vocation to foster the transfer of knowledge, the business sector being one of the transfer channels, converting the knowledge generated in the university environment in wealth and employment for Cantabria. Its participation is contributing to institutionalise the collaboration between university and companies in the region.
In this respect, a Catalogue of Research Groups of UC is being elaborated to foster contracted research.
In the framework of the area of excellence of “Language and Cultural Heritage” of Cantabria International Campus, the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria collaborates in the Semantic Heritage Web Project of Cantabria, Patrimonio 3.0, headed by the Marcelino Botín Foundation and the UC. To this end, a specific agreement has been signed by which the Chamber of Commerce assigns valuable historical publications from the region which are a part of its documentary records for its scanning and inclusion in the Cultural Heritage WebPage 3.0
Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce, together with the other five aggregates and with Cantabria International Campus, promotes the celebration of an International Meeting of experts in entrepreneurship, to be held in November 2011.
On the other hand, the UC and the Chamber of Commerce have signed an agreement (September 2011) which develops the agreement between CRUE and the Higher Council of Chambers of Commerce with the aim of systematizing the common initiatives mentioned and others which are currently under review.
